Our clients are enthusiastic about the innovative AI-driven solutions we are introducing. We are seeking multiple Senior or Tech Lead developers enthusiastic about artificial intelligence, eager to innovate, and ready to make a global impact through a leading New Zealand enterprise.
This position is part of our Digital Engineering team, focusing on creating innovative AI software solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally on projects utilizing the newest AI models to solve complex business issues. Your solid software development expertise combined with passion for AI is vital here.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Lead AI development initiatives within digital engineering projects.
- Design, develop, deploy, and optimize advanced AI-driven software applications.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to integrate AI models effectively addressing business requirements.
- Drive innovation by applying and pushing the boundaries of AI technologies.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Over 7 years of professional experience in software development, preferably with Python and TypeScript.
- Proven track record of delivering at least one generative AI solution in a production environment (e.g., chatbots, summarizers, code assistants).
- In-depth knowledge of transformer architectures and orchestration stacks such as LangChain (v0.2+), LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
- Hands-on experience deploying and fine-tuning models on cloud platforms like Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or SageMaker.
- Practical expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) methods, vector databases, and evaluation metrics including BLEU, ROUGE-L, and GPTScore.
- Proficiency in cloud-native engineering tools including Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Familiarity with agent frameworks such as AutoGen (versions 0.2 to 0.4) and CrewAI, as well as tool-using agents.
- Experience working with multimodal workflows combining image and text inputs using GPT-4o and real-time APIs.
- Knowledge of embedding models and workspace automation using agentic frameworks.
- Advanced understanding of RAG variants like LongRAG, Self-RAG, GraphRAG, and comparative insights into vector stores such as Pinecone, Qdrant, FAISS, and Azure AI Search.
- Competence in multimodal and streaming large language models (LLMs) enabling real-time GPT-4o or Gemini 2 Ultra applications including image-to-text or speech and cross-modal embeddings.
