Senior Test Automation Engineer

Overview

IgniteTech is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to innovate at the crossroads of quality engineering and generative AI technologies. This position transcends conventional QA roles by integrating advanced automation skills with state-of-the-art AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and OpenAI API, aiming to elevate software reliability as a strategic priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the entire test automation lifecycle for major product segments, including framework design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement.
• Utilize generative AI tools daily to create test cases, analyze logs, identify edge cases, and expedite exploratory testing beyond typical methodologies.
• Develop and maintain Selenium-based frameworks using Python, Java, or JavaScript to ensure stable, efficient regression testing across diverse browsers and platforms.
• Integrate automated testing suites into CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps to validate all code changes before deployment.
• Evaluate test outputs and live production data to detect failure trends, establish quality KPIs (such as coverage, defect density, Mean Time to Detect), and convey insightful reports to engineering leaders.
• Review automation scripts and mentor junior team members on best practices for frameworks, AI-augmented workflows, and data-informed decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with product and development teams from early design stages to define acceptance criteria, testability conditions, and quality benchmarks prior to coding efforts.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• A minimum of 5 years in software quality assurance, including at least 3 years specializing in automated testing.
• Proficient in Selenium WebDriver, experienced with Page Object Model patterns, wait strategies, and cross-browser testing.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript for framework construction and scripting activities.
• Demonstrated use of generative AI technologies like OpenAI API, Claude Code, or Cursor applied within engineering contexts.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Competence in data analysis, including SQL querying, log parsing, and utilizing dashboard tools such as Grafana or Tableau.
• Excellent communication to translate complex test findings into understandable business implications for stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and well-organized to excel in fully remote, asynchronous teamwork environments.

• Experience with API testing frameworks like Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright.
