Senior Software Security Operations Engineer

Overview

Join Qualcomm's Security Engineering team based in Cork, Ireland, as a Senior Software Security Operations Engineer. Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain operational software applications supporting the product security initiatives at Qualcomm.
• Collaborate with multiple technology teams to comprehend their workflows and convert high-level specifications into reliable, mission-critical products.
• Provide support to Qualcomm’s technology groups on security-related processes, prioritizing timely resolution of production issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of two years’ software development experience in at least one language among: C#, .NET Core, Python, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with web server environments like IIS and application development for these platforms.
• Proficient in writing SQL and stored procedures on databases such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience either as a system administrator or developer working with Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of software security principles and security best practices.
• Advanced debugging and issue triage capabilities, focusing on complex vulnerability management problems.
• Knowledge of React JS and ANT framework considered a plus.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures, API gateways, Docker containers, and Kubernetes is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with over two years of relevant Security Engineering experience.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree with at least one year of relevant experience, or a PhD in a related field.
• Equivalent experience will be considered if candidates demonstrate capability in fulfilling role duties.
