Job description
Overview
Join our client's Trading Technology team as a Software Engineer dedicated to building high-performance systems critical to the firm's trading activities. This role requires hands-on engineering expertise to create robust, low-latency infrastructure where every microsecond counts. Collaboration with traders, quantitative analysts, and infrastructure engineers is key to delivering effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Order & Execution Management Systems (OEMS) managing the entire lifecycle of trade orders, from initiation to execution.
- Create low-latency market access solutions and implement exchange connectivity protocols such as FIX and proprietary binary protocols.
- Design and maintain real-time market data feed handlers and high-throughput tick data pipelines with minimal latency.
- Build pre-trade risk engines and post-trade reporting tools to ensure compliance and business safety.
- Construct backtesting and quantitative simulation frameworks to validate trading strategies with historical and synthetic data.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience within the traditional finance sector.
- Solid expertise in modern C++ standards (C++11, C++14, C++17, C++20) applied in performance-critical contexts.
- Background in trading technology, fintech, or other latency-sensitive fields such as high-frequency trading, market making, or exchange platforms.
- Strong knowledge of low-latency system design including concurrency control and memory management techniques.
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/UDP, multicast) and/or financial protocols like FIX, ITCH, and OUCH is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system-level performance optimization.
- Capability to succeed in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with traders, quants, and engineering teams.
