About the Role
Join CGI, Canada's largest independent IT services company, as we expand in Atlantic Canada. We seek a Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, driving them from initiation through to successful completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of projects including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.
- Create and maintain project charters, detailed work plans, schedules, budgets, and logs for risks and issues.
- Lead and coordinate diverse teams spanning business units, vendors, and technical specialists.
- Conduct meetings, workshops, and decision-making forums with project sponsors and senior leadership.
- Ensure projects align with corporate priorities, governance structures, and established project management protocols.
- Track progress and deliverables; prepare and deliver clear status updates to leadership.
- Identify project risks and challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate as necessary.
- Support procurement, vendor assessments, contract oversight, and implementation activities.
- Organize change management efforts including training and readiness initiatives for smooth adoption.
- Maintain compliance with privacy, security, accessibility, and regulatory standards throughout projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Public Administration, IT, Engineering or related disciplines.
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience on complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and scopes.
- Proficient in project scheduling, budgeting, risk control, and vendor management.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience utilizing project management frameworks and methodologies such as PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background managing projects in utility or public sectors.
- Professional certifications like PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 or equivalents.
- Experience in digital transformation, infrastructure, enterprise systems, or service modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of change management models such as Prosci or ADKAR.
Compensation and Culture
