Role Overview

We are seeking our second full-time product designer who will lead critical aspects of UX design and usability. Your responsibilities will include nurturing the core product and ideating on new product concepts. This role involves tackling complex AI-enhanced design challenges, experimenting with innovative solutions, and navigating the limitations of AI/ML models.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end design processes using diverse research and design methodologies to identify customer challenges, prototype solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop solutions driven by AI capabilities, addressing unique and challenging design problems not found elsewhere in the market.
• Integrate AI tools into your design workflow and promote their adoption within the Product and Engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with customers, product managers, and engineers throughout the project phases, actively seeking feedback and iterating designs.
• Plan for scalability in the design system, ensuring solutions retain simplicity and elegance as they evolve, including refinement and simplification when necessary.
• Engage directly with customers by observing their environments, leading usability testing, focus groups, and other solution validation exercises.

• Accept iterative design processes that involve discarding many ideas initially, recognizing that initial releases are just starting points.
• Embrace adaptability and creativity to navigate uncertainties in a growing company, open to experimentation and learning.
• Strong communicator and relationship-builder, comfortable engaging via multiple communication channels including in-person and virtual platforms.

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience working within startups or scale-ups, managing competing priorities and transforming unscalable processes.
• History of being an early hire helping to establish team culture and organizational presence in a new location or region.
