Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Java Integration Developer with extensive practical expertise in Java, Kafka, and Azure integration technologies to architect, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integration solutions. The ideal individual will specialize in integration techniques beyond basic Java application development, operating across APIs, event-driven messaging systems, and resolving complex integration challenges to uphold system stability and performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and execute enterprise integration solutions leveraging Java, Kafka, and Azure services.
  • Develop dependable RESTful APIs and event-driven messaging components.
  • Construct and sustain Kafka infrastructure, including producers, consumers, topics, and event handlers.
  • Facilitate connectivity among enterprise applications deployed on cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Implement integration services with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Diagnose and remedy intricate integration and production problems involving APIs and messaging systems.
  • Enhance integration systems for improved performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Setup monitoring, logging, alerting, and error management systems.
  • Utilize Azure integration tools like Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management in solution delivery.
  • Engage in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps routines related to integration projects.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, subject matter experts, developers, and business units.
  • Conduct root cause analyses followed by permanent remediation for production issues.
  • Adhere to enterprise integration design patterns, coding standards, and security protocols.
  • Contribute to architectural design, documentation, code review processes, and knowledge dissemination.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in Java development.
  • Proven proficiency with Java and Spring Boot development.
  • Extensive experience with Apache Kafka components including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offset management, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry.
  • Strong background in building enterprise integration solutions involving REST APIs and asynchronous event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and its integration services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management.
  • Strong skills in SQL and database integration.
  • Proficient with Git version control and experience working in CI/CD environments.
  • Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting and supporting production environments.

Kafka Expertise Details

  • Building and managing Kafka producers and consumers.
  • Working with topics, partitions, consumer groups, and offset management.
  • Knowledge of Kafka Connect and Schema Registry usage.
  • Error handling strategies and retry mechanisms in Kafka.
  • Designing for event-driven systems, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability and scalability of Kafka clusters.

Azure and Cloud Skills

  • Experience in designing integrations within Azure cloud environment.
  • Understanding native cloud integration design patterns.
  • Familiarity with Azure monitoring and Application Insights.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), preferred.
  • Understanding security aspects including authentication and authorization in cloud contexts.

Desirable Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of Kafka Streams and microservices design.
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
  • Infrastructure automation using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
  • DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms like MuleSoft, Boomi, or IBM App Connect.
  • Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT protocols.
