Job Purpose
The role involves heading production activities within a particular cluster for solar cell manufacturing at ReNew Power, emphasizing cost minimization, optimal machine use, and workforce/system training and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage solar cell manufacturing processes, material handling, and manpower within the assigned cluster, maintaining a thorough understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Drive initiatives to ensure high product yield and continuous productivity enhancements by adopting innovative techniques.
- Develop improvements in inventory management, production control, and manufacturing systems.
- Assess production control efforts to guarantee products meet customer quality requirements.
- Maintain critical quality parameters such as conversion loss, yield loss, and control waste reduction.
- Plan and meet production targets on shift, daily, weekly, and monthly bases, while upholding quality standards.
- Reduce costs and minimize equipment underutilization or losses.
- Perform root cause analyses on manufacturing issues and implement timely corrective measures.
- Manage mass balancing, inventory accounting, supplier evaluation, daily consumption reviews, ensuring production continuity through proper bill of materials and consumable availability.
- Utilize data analysis and automate shop floor data collection to lower human error and boost productivity.
- Collaborate with production teams to set technical specifications for modifying and updating equipment and facilities effectively.
- Plan and execute manufacturing and manpower schedules ensuring smooth project execution within time and budget limits.
Selection Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Technology in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years in a relevant role within the large-scale solar cell component manufacturing industry.
