Job description
Role Overview
The Senior Application Engineer will oversee the management and operation of OpenShift and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments, facilitating application deployments while ensuring platform stability and performance. The position demands hands-on involvement in troubleshooting platform components such as Ingress, Routes, and DNS, alongside enforcing security updates and maintaining efficient deployment workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain OpenShift and GKE clusters to support application environments.
- Apply security patches and system updates consistently to safeguard the platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to Ingress, Routes, and DNS configurations.
- Establish and sustain GitOps methodologies for deployment automation.
- Handle ArgoCD tools to streamline application deployment processes.
- Create, update, and manage Helm charts for application configuration.
- Set up namespaces and prepare environments tailored to application needs.
- Provide varying levels of technical assistance to development teams.
- Address deployment challenges and optimize application performance.
- Engage actively in cloud transformation initiatives within the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Over two years of practical experience in similar roles involving container orchestration and cloud technologies.
Required Technical Competencies
- Proficiency with OpenShift platform management.
- Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals and operations.
- Implemented GitOps workflows and toolsets.
- Hands-on experience with ArgoCD usage and configuration.
- Development and maintenance of Helm charts for deployments.
- Understanding of DNS, Ingress, and Route network components.
- Background in container platform deployment and support.
- Expertise in performance troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Exposure to cloud transformation projects and integrations.
