About the Role

Join Walmart Canada as a Self-Checkout Attendant and enhance your expertise within the retail sector. You will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service by assisting shoppers using the self-service checkout stations, ensuring a smooth and positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the self-checkout area by keeping it tidy, clean, and free from clutter, debris, or spills.
• Guide customers on properly and efficiently using the self-service checkout systems when necessary.
• Promote Walmart’s sponsored programs including credit card offers, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns.
• Monitor customers to identify when assistance is needed during their checkout process.
• Conduct self-service interventions and quality verifications, explaining their purpose politely to reassure customers that these measures are standard procedures.
• Possess knowledge on handling Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately complete the "Failure to Deactivate" log documentation.
• Notify the Customer Service Manager promptly when the self-service area has cash shortages or technical difficulties.
• Ensure that Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated stations after usage.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.00.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
