Role Overview

The Security Officer in Operations Support Services is responsible for ensuring the safety and smooth operation of various security functions across duty points within the hospital. This role requires proactive engagement with patients, visitors, and vehicles, maintaining security protocols and supporting emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily deployment and fulfill designated tasks at assigned duty stations.
  • Warmly welcome and assist in the greeting of all patients and visitors upon entry and exit.
  • Manage vehicle movements including opening and closing gates for arriving and departing cars at the main lobby.
  • Offer timely support to patients and visitors, including assistance with wheelchairs and trolleys.
  • Provide directions and facilitate taxi calling services and coordination with porters and wheelchair support.
  • Ensure orderly vehicle traffic on roads and car parks, managing taxi flow and related services.
  • Assist with efficient car park operations and associated management tasks.
  • Oversee administration of keys, electronic card access controls, and contractor pass issuance.
  • Monitor and record activities via CCTV systems to maintain security awareness.
  • Respond rapidly to incidents such as fire and emergency alerts.
  • Handle Code Black incidents including violent individuals, crowd control, suicide prevention, and crime situations.
  • Conduct routine foot patrols both inside and outside the hospital premises.
  • Support Senior Security Officers or Supervisors as second-in-command during deployments and operations.
  • Provide security assistance for special events including VIP visits or emergency scenarios.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum education attainment of PSLE or higher.
  • Preferably at least two years of experience in a security officer role.
  • Must be an effective team player with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Willingness and ability to work three rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
