Role Summary

The Security Delivery Architect role within the Cybersecurity Practice requires an experienced professional to deliver security architecture, advisory services, governance, risk management, and compliance support for Australian Government and regulated sector clients. This role collaborates closely with business teams, project personnel, engineers, and clients to design secure solutions, assist in security transformation projects, and guarantee alignment with industry and governmental security standards.

Key Duties

• Provide expertise in security architecture across areas such as cloud environments, infrastructure, networks, endpoints, and identity management systems.
• Validate and ensure security requirements for both new and existing technological solutions.
• Perform thorough design reviews to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
• Create and update detailed architecture and security design documentation.
• Engage directly with government clients through workshops, architecture evaluations, and risk management discussions.
• Translate complex business and regulatory needs into actionable and practical technical solutions.
• Carry out security assessments, identify gaps, and evaluate cybersecurity maturity levels.
• Communicate findings and advise on remediation strategies to stakeholders at all levels including executives.
• Provide security oversight throughout project phases, from initial requirement gathering to implementation and operational handover.
• Attend governance boards, design authorities, and technical review forums to assure compliance with security and contractual mandates.
• Assist in pre-sales activities by delivering subject matter expertise in cybersecurity to support solution proposals and customer engagements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance client security posture through advisory and managed security service offerings.
• Conduct risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and propose risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and uphold security standards, policies, and procedural documentation.
• Support audit, assurance, and accreditation aligned with standards such as the Information Security Manual (ISM), Essential Eight, and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
• Guide clients through IRAP assessments and accreditation processes by providing architecture reviews and preparing required security documentation.
• Collaborate with assessors and stakeholders to address and remediate audit findings.
• Review vulnerability scans and security reports to prioritize and support remediation efforts.
• Work alongside Security Operations Centers, engineering teams, and clients to assist in managing security incidents, reporting, and investigation efforts.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven background in security architecture, cybersecurity consulting, governance, risk, compliance, or security operations.
• Experience within government, defense, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong familiarity with ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF, and security assurance processes.
• Skilled in conducting security assessments, architecture reviews, and remediation planning.
• Ability to support projects through design, rollout, and operational transition.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with technical and executive audiences.
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms, network infrastructure, endpoint security, and identity technologies.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience catering to Australian Government or Defence clientele.
• Background in IRAP assessments and accreditation or security assurance initiatives.
• Exposure to cybersecurity consulting, managed security services, or pre-sales consultancy.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership, CISOs, governance boards, or technical review panels.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical expertise.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SABSA, TOGAF, Microsoft SC-100, AZ-500, and CCSP preferred.

Additional Information

• Applicants must be Australian citizens.
• Capability to obtain and maintain Australian Government security clearance as required per client contracts.
• Existing security clearances (Baseline, NV1, NV2) are beneficial but not mandatory.
