Section Head – Information Technology (UAE Nationals Only)

Overview

A prominent confidential government organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking for a seasoned Section Head - IT Operations to oversee the dependable, secure, and efficient functioning of its technological ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the management of IT infrastructure and operations across both on-premise setups and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Manage IT Service Management processes including service desk operations, incident resolution, problem management, change management, and service requests.
• Guarantee system high availability, implement business continuity plans, manage disaster recovery strategies, and maintain operational resilience.
• Lead daily IT security activities ensuring full compliance with Abu Dhabi Government’s information security policies.
• Supervise production application support including patch deployment, updates, and operational transitions.
• Administer vendor relationships, contractual agreements, service level agreements, software licensing, asset management, and cloud expenditure controls.
• Elicit regular monitoring of IT service performance, risk management, key performance indicators, and spearhead operational enhancements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Brings 8 to 12 years of substantial experience managing IT operations, infrastructure, cloud environments, and service management with proven leadership capabilities.
• Experienced in overseeing critical IT infrastructure, production application support, IT service desk functions, vendor management, and enterprise IT environments.
• Background in government or large organizational settings is highly valued.
• Possession of certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS/Azure/OCI, CISSP, or CISM are advantageous.
