Overview

This opportunity is for a reliable and proactive School Premises Assistant to join a community-centered primary school located in Ilford, Essex. This fully onsite, year-round position requires a dependable individual to contribute towards the smooth and safe daily operation of the school site.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in opening and closing the school each day.
• Perform routine inspections, identify and undertake minor repairs on the premises.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across the school site.
• Support duties related to security, compliance, and health and safety protocols.
• Address urgent issues as they arise and collaborate with the wider premises team.
• Coordinate and liaise with external contractors and service providers as necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Experienced in roles such as School Site Assistant, Caretaker, or Premises Assistant is essential.
• Possession of an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of site security and health and safety regulations.
• Capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Immediate availability to commence employment.

Compensation & Working Hours

• Hourly wage ranges from 3.53 to 37.53 (umbrella setup).
• Maximum of 7.5 working hours each day.
• Five-day workweek, all year round.
• Temporary position initially, with potential to transition to permanent after 12 weeks.
