Role Overview

We are seeking a Scanning Technician to operate and support field-deployable analytical equipment, including XRF analyzers, hyperspectral scanners, and core photography systems. This position involves extensive travel on a Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) roster and requires working closely with clients and internal teams across several Australian locations such as Adelaide, Perth, as well as being open to applicants in Orange and Dubbo, NSW.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot technical problems related to proprietary analytical equipment and software used for scanning and analysis.
  • Perform scanning tasks both onsite in the field and within workshop settings.
  • Provide logistical coordination to support field scanning activities effectively.
  • Document and escalate operational issues following established incident management protocols.
  • Travel regularly, often on short notice, to fulfill operational and client support requirements.

Additional Duties

  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, servicing, and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Assist in developing standard work procedures and training materials.
  • Support product development through testing, reporting, and facilitating operational deployments.
  • Train client technicians to safely and effectively use field-deployable analytical tools.
  • Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and performance indicators.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Eligible to work in Australia.
  • Field experience with drill rigs or in mining/exploration core facilities is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of core sample handling and logging is desirable.
  • Customer service skills with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong interest in digital technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with proactive initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills are advantageous.
  • 4WD experience and Senior First Aid certification are beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster.
