Job Location and Compensation

This role is based in Calgary. The hourly wage for the position is $19.25. Candidates must be open to working any shift with flexibility to work overtime and on weekends when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure production floors and adjacent areas are kept clean and sanitized.
• Operate various cleaning tools including scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machines, compressed air devices, and power washers to maintain cleanliness of bakery spaces such as warehouses, freezers, refrigerators, packing, and production areas.
• Execute lockout procedures, dismantling, cleaning, and sanitizing of production machinery according to the master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures.
• Follow cleaning protocols aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and health and safety standards.
• Collect and properly dispose of waste and recyclable materials from production zones.
• Assist in addressing major spills of liquids or dry products promptly and effectively.
• Carry out specialized cleaning tasks defined in the master sanitation schedule.
• Adhere to all relevant food safety, quality, health and environmental regulations and corporate policies.
• Maintain continuous compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and GMP requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Passion for bread and baked goods.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting; experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
• Familiarity with sanitation procedures; industrial sanitation experience is preferred.
• Comfort handling sanitizing chemicals and agents safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to uphold rigorous cleanliness standards.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating self-reliance, eagerness to learn, grow, and manage ones career path effectively.
• Receptiveness to constructive feedback aimed at improving skills, performance, and capabilities.
