Sample Collection Technician

Overview

The role of Sample Collection Technician involves performing water sampling tasks, including collecting drinking, raw, and wastewater samples in compliance with approved sampling plans and schedules. This position requires strict observance of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and organizational instructions during the sampling process to ensure sample integrity and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Gather water samples using designated tools and containers while preventing contamination or damage.
• Document comprehensive sample information such as location, time, temperature, chlorine level, and pH when relevant.
• Apply Chain of Custody protocols and promptly deliver samples to the laboratory.
• Follow occupational health and safety guidelines during field operations.
• Report any unusual findings observed at sampling sites.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of sampling equipment and tools.
• Comply with assigned project routes and work plans.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma.
• Prior experience in water sampling or related fieldwork is advantageous.
• Capability to perform fieldwork under diverse environmental conditions.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols.
• Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory.
