Position Summary

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) serves as the initial contact point within the customer experience journey. Collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing teams, the SDR is essential to driving strategic expansion by generating and qualifying sales opportunities through inbound lead management and outbound prospecting. This position offers a pathway to grow foundational sales and marketing expertise, paving the way for careers in business development and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate all sales leads originating from marketing activities using established qualification standards.
  • Employ multiple prospecting techniques such as phone calls, emails, and social media to identify potential customers’ needs and gauge interest levels.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives to set up discovery meetings for qualified prospects.
  • Utilize various sales and marketing support tools, including SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Navigator, and Pardot, to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate contact information in the CRM system (Salesforce) to support pipeline development.
  • Consistently provide courteous and knowledgeable service to prospects, building strong relationships.
  • Collaborate across departments to foster internal relationships supporting sales goals.
  • The role primarily focuses on inbound lead responses while also emphasizing outbound prospecting efforts.

Candidate Profile

Required qualifications and traits include:

  • At least two years of sales or customer service experience, adept at thriving under pressure.
  • A university degree or college diploma in Business, Marketing, or related fields, with strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Goal-driven with a persistent and organized approach.
  • Comfortable adapting to change and driven to achieve success.
  • Strong analytical, relational, negotiation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter.

Preferred skills include experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce, understanding of the sales funnel stages (lead generation, follow-up, tracking), exposure to prospecting software or chatbot monitoring, and additional European language proficiency is an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $75,000 CDN, inclusive of base and potential variable compensation, although precise figures depend on qualifications and location.
