Flying Bark Productions is a leading independent animation studio known for its innovative character animation and storytelling. With over 50 years of experience in creating acclaimed family-focused 2D and 3D feature films and TV shows, the studio is currently engaged with major projects including "Avatar: The Last Airbender" feature film, Netflix's "Ghostbusters" and "Stranger Things" animated series, as well as the upcoming "Zac Power" film.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Rigging Artist who thrives on creative challenges and storytelling innovation. The individual will be responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining rigged assets under the guidance of directors and technical supervisors. The role demands ensuring that rigged assets align with aesthetic, user interface, performance, and technical quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and update rigged assets to meet project requirements and supervisor feedback.
  • Maintain high-quality rigging standards concerning appearance, usability, robustness, and technical performance.
  • Supervise rigging processes for characters, set elements, and props throughout the animation pipeline.
  • Offer technical assistance and troubleshoot issues for animators and other technical directors using the rigs.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in VFX or animation rigging.
  • Deep understanding of control systems and mesh deformation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with creative and technical teams.
  • Proficient in Maya, with solid knowledge of Python and MEL scripting languages.
  • Ability to innovate and develop new rigging methods to address production challenges.
