Role Overview
The role of Rigger Lifting at QCON is a permanent, on-site position located in Balochistan, Pakistan. Responsibilities encompass preparing, inspecting, and securing lifting gear such as slings and rigging apparatus. The Rigger will attach loads safely to cranes and various lifting machinery, interpret lifting instructions and hand signals, and ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company protocols.
Key Duties
- Prepare and examine lifting devices including slings and rigging equipment for safety and readiness.
- Secure loads to cranes and other lifting devices in a safe and controlled manner.
- Understand and act upon lifting plans, relevant hand signals, and operational instructions.
- Verify load weights and balances before lifts.
- Collaborate closely with crane operators, supervisors, and site teams to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain clear and safe work zones throughout lifting activities.
- Report any equipment defects or safety hazards promptly.
- Accurately document lifting operations and comply with company safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hands-on experience with rigging and lifting operations, including crane, hoist, sling, and shackle usage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards, load calculations, lifting plans, and applicable industry regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret method statements, basic technical drawings, and instructions related to rigging and lifting.
- Physically fit to work outdoors and in industrial or remote environments for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with site personnel.
- Prior involvement in construction, oil and gas, or heavy industry projects is advantageous.
- Possession of recognized rigging and lifting certifications or training is highly preferred.
- Dedication to safety practices, punctuality, and compliance with company rules and policies.
