Research Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join our team at Carnegie Mellon University in Doha, Qatar, working on cutting-edge projects focused on indoor context-aware systems. The role involves hands-on participation in developing indoor localization techniques, prototyping wearable multisensor devices, and building multi-modal datasets to predict indoor movement trajectories.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of context-aware solutions by leveraging multi-modal deep learning methods.
• Participate in constructing a detailed multi-modal dataset for indoor trajectory prediction through data gathering and annotation.
• Work collaboratively with internal team members and external partners to achieve project goals.
• Assist in analyzing data, interpreting results, and documenting research outcomes.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate proficient programming skills, particularly in Python and C/C++.
• Have hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Be comfortable operating in Linux environments and utilizing command-line interfaces.
• Experience in sensor integration along with data collection and analysis abilities.
