Job description
Overview
A prominent civil engineering contractor is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team located in Dunshaughlin, County Meath. The role supports delivery of a significant civil infrastructure project at Dublin Airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing the commercial aspects of civil infrastructure works.
- Contribute to cost management including forecasting and financial report preparation.
- Prepare, review, and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), valuations, contract variations, and cost analyses.
- Handle subcontractor accounts, oversee payments, and administer change control procedures.
- Conduct site measurements and evaluate completed construction work.
- Engage with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate project progression.
- Support interim valuations, finalize accounts, and compile monthly cost reports.
- Track project budgets, identify risks, and monitor commercial performance indicators.
- Assist with contract administration ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- A Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in quantity surveying, particularly within civil engineering or construction environments.
- Experience in infrastructure, utility services, roadwork, or large-scale civil construction projects is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, cost control mechanisms, and commercial management processes.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and QS/commercial software tools.
- Effective communication and strong organizational skills.
- Possession of a full driving license with capacity to attend site visits as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary in the region of €65,000 to €75,000, dependent on experience.
