This vacancy is with SAIC Bituminous Products in Dublin, a Colas entity involved since the 1920s in bitumen manufacturing and laying, civil engineering, roofing & cladding, slipform paving, traffic management, and mechanical & electrical services.

The Quantity Surveyor position focuses on offering prompt commercial support to project teams to safeguard margins, oversee cashflow, and contribute to precise forecasting and reporting. The role requires frequent site visits and close cooperation with operational and supply teams across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously track project expenses, update cost reports, and monitor labor, plant, and material costs against budgets.
  • Review subcontractor payment claims, coordinate with the Contracts Team on measurements, and enter purchase orders in the internal costing system.
  • Price new tenders and smaller recurring jobs while managing project cashflow to ensure timely payments and accurate cash forecasts.

  • Collaborate closely with the Contracts Team to align commercial and operational efforts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Attend site visits and engage with stakeholders to address commercial, technical, and contract-related matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in quantity surveying or commercial roles, specifically within highway or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commercial insight in cost management and contractor liaison.
  • Abilities include measuring work, pricing variations, preparing valuations, managing cashflow, and assisting tender pricing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety, quality, and continual improvement.
  • Self-driven, accountable, and skilled at prioritizing tasks effectively.
