Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our dedicated Quality team at our Manukau, Auckland site. This hands-on laboratory role is critical in maintaining our commitment to high-quality product standards. The role involves testing in-process and finished products, supporting product releases, participating in sensory assessments, and ensuring laboratory adherence to compliance and 5S principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect product samples and perform testing using approved laboratory methodologies.
• Identify and escalate any results that deviate from defined quality standards and specifications.
• Support prompt product release by conducting reliable and efficient quality tests.
• Engage in sensory training sessions and evaluation activities.
• Maintain calibration of laboratory equipment, manage consumables, and keep comprehensive documentation.
• Ensure laboratory records, samples, and quality systems comply with standard requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and uphold 5S workplace organization practices.
• Promote health, safety, and wellbeing standards throughout all operations.
• Work various shifts including evenings to support the 24/5 operational schedule.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys teamwork, and has a strong passion for maintaining quality. They have strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Problem-solving mindset with continuous improvement focus.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
• A collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, beverage, manufacturing, or laboratory settings.
• Understanding of HACCP, ISO 9001, and/or ISO 17025 quality management systems.
• Qualifications in Quality Assurance, Food Technology, Science, or related fields.
• Experience with laboratory testing and sensory evaluation procedures.
