Job description

Role Overview

The Quality Control Advisor plays a pivotal role in enhancing employees' understanding and implementation of Reach Active's operational and quality management framework. Situated across various sites in Ireland, this position supports continuous improvement in quality monitoring, including advancements in digital record-keeping and adherence to compliance standards. The advisor acts as a key liaison influencing internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction through reduced errors, rework, and defects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop practical application of the company’s operational and quality frameworks among employees.
  • Assist teams in refining digital documentation and compliance procedures.
  • Champion the “get it right first time” philosophy throughout all projects.
  • Offer guidance, mentoring, and coaching to nurture quality-oriented behaviors within project teams.
  • Execute internal audits aligned with ISO standards as directed by the HSQE Manager.
  • Audit multiple projects, processes, and activities to verify compliance and spot improvement prospects.
  • Generate comprehensive and structured audit reports, communicating results to relevant parties.
  • Help implement corrective and preventive measures when needed.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain consistent quality performance.
  • Promote learning and engagement by sharing best quality practices.
  • Utilize effective communication and leadership to influence positive behaviors.
  • Conduct site visits across construction and utility locations in Ireland, reviewing quality controls and safety practices.
  • Identify and address quality-related concerns early to ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and influence across different organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, including expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems and relevant documentation management.
  • Competence in delivering training, mentoring, and coaching sessions.
  • High attention to detail paired with excellent organizational skills.
  • Practical knowledge of construction and utilities sector operations.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various IT software tools.
  • IRCA-trained Internal Auditor certification or progress towards it, demonstrating advanced audit techniques and knowledge of industry regulations.
  • Experience applying ISO 9001:2015 standards effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of quality management principles including risk-based thinking and process auditing.
  • Awareness of industry-specific technologies and regulatory demands pertinent to construction and utilities.
  • Quality Practitioner certification is advantageous but not mandatory if equivalent experience is established.

Additional Information

  • Frequent travel to multiple sites across Ireland is required, including potential overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to perform out-of-hours work such as weekends and occasional nights is necessary, to accommodate project needs.
