Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Officer to join our team at McCormick Flavor Solutions, located in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast. This full-time permanent role operates Monday through Friday and thrives in a dynamic manufacturing setting. The role involves managing indirect procurement activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting operational teams with effective purchasing strategies.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee indirect procurement tasks, including creating and processing purchase orders according to company policies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery and resolve any supply-related concerns proactively.
• Assist operational departments with procurement needs ensuring adherence to "No PO No Pay" policies.
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate demand forecasting to align with business goals.
• Track supplier performance and aid sourcing and commercial negotiations.
• Update and maintain procurement master data within QAD ERP, confirming accuracy in pricing, item descriptions, and schedules.
• Generate procurement reports to monitor KPIs, assess supplier effectiveness, and support costing activities.
• Drive continuous improvement projects, support internal audits and governance, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related analytical roles.
• Background in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably QAD.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective stakeholder and supplier relationship management abilities.
• Proactive attitude focused on continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of procurement controls, compliance, and governance.
