Role Overview
As a Proposal Specialist at AECOM, you will take charge of preparing sophisticated and high-quality proposals in response to client RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. The role involves working closely with growth teams and operational leaders to pursue and secure new business opportunities. You will oversee the coordination of print, digital, and presentation submissions ensuring adherence to timelines, accuracy, and compliance standards. Leveraging market research and competitive analysis, you will contribute to strategic planning efforts and support broader business development goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex proposal developments across various business lines and regions from early capture stages to client interviews.
- Organize and facilitate capture planning sessions and strategy workshops that shape winning proposals.
- Coach teams on interview techniques, question and answer responses, and presentation skills to improve client engagement.
- Manage proposal quality assurance through structured reviews and incorporate lessons learned to enhance future proposals.
- Advise on Go/No-Go decisions by providing strategic insights and ensuring compliance with authority and legal policies.
- Analyze client feedback and internal debriefs to identify patterns and implement continuous improvements.
- Act as a subject matter expert for specific clients or sectors, collaborating with marketing and management teams to craft targeted pursuit strategies.
- Lead internal training initiatives, special projects, and provide mentorship for team members including direct reports.
- Hold accountability for overall proposal performance and successful delivery of all related activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in bid and proposal management or similar roles such as Pursuit Partner, Bid & Proposal Partner, or Tender Specialist.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, high-quality proposal content.
- Proficient in managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines through effective project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical information clearly and persuasively.
- Experience in converting detailed textual content into engaging graphics or presentations is highly advantageous.
