Role Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Quantity Surveyor to support our infrastructure maintenance operations based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role entails precise cost management, accurate measurement preparations, and maintaining strict budgetary controls throughout the full duration of infrastructure maintenance initiatives. The successful applicant will collaborate effectively with multifunctional teams to ensure projects meet timelines and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and review bills of quantities (BoQ) for maintenance projects on infrastructure.
- Conduct thorough cost estimations, financial forecasting, and budget analyses to assist project planning and fiscal oversight.
- Track project expenditures regularly and generate detailed cost reports for management and stakeholders.
- Manage contract administration duties including handling variations, claims, and change orders aligned with contract provisions.
- Carry out quantity measurements and valuations as per project specifications and accepted industry standards.
- Maintain extensive project files, documentation, and cost databases for auditing and archival purposes.
- Evaluate supplier quotations critically and negotiate pricing to optimize procurement expenses.
- Identify potential financial risks linked to projects and propose suitable risk mitigation approaches.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely cost monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure all activities comply with UAE construction regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
- Prepare comprehensive progress and financial reports to facilitate informed management decisions.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- At least three to five years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in an equivalent role focused on cost management.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling infrastructure maintenance projects or similar construction settings.
- Strong skills in cost estimation, budget control, and financial forecast modeling.
- Proficiency with quantity surveying software tools such as Bluebeam, Touchplan, or comparable platforms.
- Advanced abilities in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project for detailed data handling.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methodologies, and contract administration processes.
- Familiarity with UAE construction laws, regulatory standards, and local building codes.
- Preferred experience with CAD applications and ERP software systems.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills enabling efficient workload balance.
- Fluent written and spoken proficiency in English.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost management is advantageous.
