Project Planner

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Planner with solid experience in programme planning and scheduling, particularly for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in crafting, overseeing, and monitoring project timelines for significant Design & Build infrastructure initiatives across Ireland, including metro, aviation, rail, water, and highway developments.

Role Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules.
• Support the integration of design, procurement, and construction activities into achievable plans.
• Track project progress and compare it against baseline programmes.
• Identify risks to the schedule, delays, and impacts on the critical path, and help develop mitigation plans.
• Generate programme reports, dashboards, and status updates for teams and stakeholders.
• Assist with change management by evaluating effects on project timelines.
• Contribute to programme governance, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Review contractor timelines to ensure alignment with project demands.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure realistic and well-sequenced planning assumptions.
• Participate in scenario and recovery planning through "what-if" analyses when needed.
• Aid in implementing best practices, tools, and systems for project planning.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in scheduling or planning roles within large infrastructure or construction projects (such as metro, aviation, rail, water, highway schemes).
• Strong knowledge of programme management principles, scheduling techniques, and project controls.
• Proficient in multiple planning software tools, including Primavera P6 and Asta Powerproject or similar.
• Experience managing detailed multi-phase project schedules.
• Understanding of critical path methodology, progress tracking, and programme reporting.
• Capability to assess contractor programmes and analyze change impacts.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret scheduling data and pinpoint risks or opportunities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to interact effectively across teams.
• Proactive, well-organized, and adept at managing several priorities in dynamic environments.
• Holds a degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or an analogous field, or equivalent practical experience.

Work Setting

This position is hybrid, involving both office and site visits primarily around Dublin.
