Job Overview
The Project Manager will oversee daily operations of FinOps and Software Asset Management (SAM) project delivery workstreams. This includes leadership of the project team, coordination with clients and vendors, and communication management with all stakeholders throughout project activities. The focus is on ensuring timely and quality delivery by effectively utilizing resources, monitoring progress, and managing contracts and relationships before, during, and after project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate comprehensive project plans detailing scope, objectives, milestones, resources, timelines, and budgets; disseminate these to management and stakeholders to enable progress tracking.
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to guarantee smooth execution and timely delivery of FinOps and SAM projects within defined scope and budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define initial project scope and objectives, validating feasibility prior to project commencement.
- Ensure that project resources are appropriately allocated based on team members' strengths and expertise.
- Manage modifications to project scope, schedule, and budget by applying suitable change control, verification, and financial analysis.
- Monitor project performance aligned with short- and long-term goals, using relevant project management tools, metrics, and reporting systems.
- Identify, evaluate, mitigate, and resolve project risks and issues through effective risk management practices.
- Maintain productive relationships through regular meetings and status updates with clients and stakeholders to clarify expectations and project progress.
- Develop and upkeep detailed project documentation including plans, trackers, spreadsheets, and dashboards capturing costs, savings, and resource use.
- Conduct research and evaluate vendors to select optimal products, services, tools, and pricing in the market.
- Oversee procurement and vendor assessment processes in line with organizational policies; negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Set and monitor vendor performance standards, metrics, and compliance to ensure high service quality and contractual fulfillment.
- Foster and maintain strong communication channels with vendors and act as the main liaison between external vendors and internal teams.
- Address and escalate critical project or vendor-related problems to higher management as necessary.
- Exhibit and enhance leadership capabilities to inspire, manage, and guide the project team successfully throughout project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- Project management certification such as PMP or CAPM is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in FinOps services, cloud computing, or technology delivery sectors.
- Experience managing projects using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with IT and cloud-related projects, particularly FinOps, Software Asset Management, or cloud governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Proven expertise in procurement, vendor evaluation, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of project management frameworks such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, and Agile.
- Exposure to ITIL or ISO/IEC 19770 standards is a plus.
- Mandatory FinOps Certified Practitioner credential; FinOps Certified Professional is preferred.
- PMP certification or active pursuit thereof is desirable.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with project planning and scheduling tools including MS Project, Jira, and Excel.
- Experience in vendor management and overseeing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Basic understanding of FinOps principles such as cost reporting, tagging, and savings measurement.
- Ability to track project risks and issues effectively.
- Competence in status reporting and documentation management.
