Job description
Position Overview
Downer seeks a motivated and proactive Project Manager to join its tier one contract with Powerco in Waikato, New Zealand. This role entails overseeing a variety of projects that vary in complexity and value, where managing multiple initiatives concurrently keeps the work engaging and diverse. The core responsibility is maintaining the financial health of each project, managing any arising issues, capturing contract variations, and consistently keeping clients well-informed about progress to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive projects to completion, adhering to specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Coordinate resources effectively in accordance with project plans.
- Ensure invoicing is accurate and processed promptly.
- Complete all customer documentation accurately and on time.
- Deliver quality engineering, design, estimation services, quotations, and as-built documentation to clients.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Track and report project costs and revenues to safeguard profitability, escalating concerns that may affect outcomes.
- Lead reviews upon project completion.
- Perform quality audits to ensure conformity with contract requirements, engineering and construction standards, legislation, regulations, and network operational standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing projects successfully.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Project.
- Working knowledge of engineering design standards.
- Good commercial insight and acumen.
- Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
