About Singapore Shipping Association
The Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), established in 1985, is a national trade body representing over 500 member companies including ship owners, operators, agents, managers, shipbrokers, insurers, maritime lawyers, bankers, and maritime technology startups. SSA plays a vital role in promoting Singapore as a top international maritime center and port hub, collaborating with government agencies and advocating shipping interests regionally and globally. They also focus on nurturing maritime talent and corporate social responsibility initiatives on behalf of their members.
Job Overview and Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Communications & Membership, the Programme Executive (Membership) will support SSA's membership engagement efforts aligned with the association's mission. This role includes managing the Career Conversion Programme (Sea Transport) and handling various membership-related programs.
- Support implementation of SSA membership engagement strategies including acquiring new members and managing membership accounts
- Coordinate customer leads process and conduct orientation sessions for new members
- Manage membership portal backend and maintain membership database
- Oversee customer relationship management tasks: eligibility checks, onboarding, renewals, and offboarding of members
- Prepare monthly membership reports for tracking and analysis
- Provide logistical assistance for Human Capital workgroup meetings
- Handle enquiries and communicate program details to prospective companies
- Manage grant application workflows including eligibility verification and submission on government platforms
- Generate monthly reports on placement outcomes and budget usage for grantors
- Prepare management reports on program performance regularly
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- 2 to 3 years experience in customer-facing roles with key account management responsibilities
- Experience working in membership-based organizations is a plus but not mandatory
- Diploma or higher qualification in business administration, communication, or related fields
- Proficiency in CRM system management and database review
- Strong customer orientation, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Result-driven, resourceful, and collaborative team player
