Programme Director

Position Overview

The Programme Director will spearhead XNode's cross-border innovation initiatives connecting Singapore and China, emphasizing acceleration for deep-tech startups via the GIA program and managing Corporate Innovation Programs (CIP) for major enterprises. This role involves shaping program strategies, driving business growth, ensuring client satisfaction, and cultivating ecosystem partnerships to assist tech startups entering the Chinese market and facilitate corporate innovation through collaborative projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive GIA acceleration initiatives by selecting qualifying Singapore deep-tech startups and guiding them through stages such as market validation, mentorship, immersive experiences in China, and business linking towards commercialization goals.
• Manage full lifecycle of Co-Innovation Program projects, including attracting high-potential applicants, ensuring their engagement, pairing Singapore companies with suitable international partners, advising on alignment with CIP goals, and coordinating with Enterprise Singapore on assessments.
• Consult with corporate clients to identify innovation potentials and source advanced solutions tailored to the China market.
• Prospect and secure new business opportunities to achieve revenue targets within GIA and CIP service offerings.
• Oversee client relations from requirement gathering and proposal creation through contract discussions, project execution, and comprehensive reporting to guarantee excellent client outcomes.
• Develop and nurture strong ties in Singapore’s startup ecosystem, particularly with deep-tech and sustainability ventures, corporate innovation divisions, and industry collaborators.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate project teams focused on program execution, client service, and business expansion.
• Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverable status to ensure punctual and aligned deliveries according to strategic plans.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Innovation, Marketing, or related disciplines; Master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least eight years of pertinent experience spanning corporate innovation, startup acceleration, management consulting, or cross-border program coordination with a strong record of managing intricate projects.
• Strong bilingual skills in both English and Chinese, including written and verbal communication.
• Well-established connections within Singapore’s startup community and knowledge of government funding schemes.
• Demonstrated expertise in client management, business development, and negotiating contracts.
• Outstanding strategic planning abilities, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities.
• Legal authorization to work in Singapore (citizenship, PR status, or valid work permit).

Desirable Attributes

• Experience managing or executing government-supported or government-partnered innovation projects such as EnterpriseSG initiatives, EDG-CIP, or GIA schemes.
• Background with Singapore-China cross-border innovation initiatives.
• Understanding of the innovation landscape between Singapore and China or the broader Southeast Asian startup ecosystem.
