About the Role
A fixed-term opportunity has opened for a Production Planner to join a well-established manufacturing group in County Westmeath, Ireland. This role supports a demanding 24/7 operational environment and involves close collaboration within planning and production teams. The contract runs for two years with an option for permanent placement, and the position requires being on-site full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and oversee master production schedules covering all manufacturing lines, and actively participate in daily production coordination meetings.
- Convert sales forecasts and customer orders into practical production schedules, manage product changeovers, handle non-standard runs, and work to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain a balance between materials, manpower, and equipment resources while adapting schedules in response to unexpected circumstances to uphold on-time delivery performance.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure materials are available when needed, monitor inventory levels, and proactively communicate progress and updates to customers.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to production scheduling and target achievement.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a similar field; relevant work experience can also be considered as an alternative.
- Minimum of three years of experience in production planning within continuous process manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, or Infor; experience with MES/APS systems is beneficial.
- Advanced skills in Excel and data analytics.
- Strong decision-making ability, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork orientation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
