Job description
Position Overview
KlasStack seeks an on-the-ground Product Marketer to engage with schools directly across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This role involves personally visiting educational institutions to promote KlasStack's school management software, building trust by demonstrating product benefits in-person rather than relying on online sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey and systematically approach private and mission schools within your local government areas to establish a comprehensive contact route.
- Develop an active sales pipeline through walk-ins, word-of-mouth, proprietor networks, WhatsApp groups, and cold outreach efforts.
- Conduct meetings with school proprietors, headteachers, and bursars to understand their current administrative workflows and illustrate how KlasStack can improve these processes.
- Manage the onboarding process for schools by loading real data for students, classes, and fee structures, provide staff training, and maintain support throughout the initial term.
- Relay feedback regarding objections, pricing concerns, and feature requests back to the product team to refine the approach based on state-specific insights.
Candidate Profile
- Resides in and possesses familiarity with the state assigned for coverage.
- Has a minimum of two years’ experience in roles involving direct sales, business development, FMCG, medical representation, edtech, or similar fields requiring door-to-door engagement.
- Comfortable initiating cold contacts and explaining technical software concepts clearly and respectfully to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in spoken English and the predominant local language of the state.
- Organized, mobile, and inquisitive about school operations.
Additional assets include familiarity with the educational sector, connections with school proprietors or the Nigerian Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), or possession of a valid driver’s license. However, these are not mandatory.
Work Environment
This is a field role rather than a typical desk job, focusing on direct engagement with schools rather than marketing campaigns or content management.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a territorial exclusivity model without competition from other representatives in the same area. Comprehensive product training is provided alongside continuous operational support. Early hires in states have the opportunity to advance into regional leadership roles.
Application Process
Interested candidates should email their CV, specify their state of residence, and submit a brief explanation of their motivation and initial school outreach strategy, including naming specific local areas or schools if possible. The selection includes an introductory call, a presentation simulating a sales pitch to a proprietor, a fieldwork trial, and then an employment offer.
Equal Opportunity
KlasStack maintains an inclusive hiring policy, welcoming diverse applicants.
