About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to join our expanding fintech company based in Accra, Ghana. This full-time position centers around overseeing the entire lifecycle of fintech products, from identifying market and customer needs through strategizing, roadmap prioritization, coordination, launching, and evaluating outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong blend of product expertise, commercial insight, empathy for customers, analytical thinking, and stakeholder collaboration skills. This role requires working closely with departments such as Engineering, Design, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Commercial, and Finance to create scalable products addressing genuine customer challenges and driving tangible business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement product strategies aligned with company goals and growth targets.
  • Own and continuously update the product roadmap, considering customer insights, market opportunities, business priorities, and technical factors.
  • Define product objectives, metrics for success, and desired outcomes clearly.
  • Identify improvements for existing products and develop new solutions to enhance competitiveness.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to spot emerging trends and opportunities within Ghanaian and broader African fintech landscapes.
  • Lead customer research activities, including interviews, surveys, and usability tests to understand customer behaviors and pain points deeply.
  • Translate findings into actionable product requirements, user personas, and journey maps as needed.
  • Validate concepts prior to significant development investment.
  • Manage the full development lifecycle, including documentation like PRDs, user stories, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design to ensure timely, quality delivery aligned with specifications.
  • Prioritize features using suitable frameworks balancing customer impact, business value, effort, and risk.
  • Conduct product planning ceremonies and promptly resolve delivery blockers.
  • Track product KPIs and analyze data to inform optimization and strategic decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on product priorities and progress.
  • Plan and support product launches and adoption initiatives working with marketing and support functions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and embed controls related to fraud prevention, customer protection, data security, KYC/AML, and financial risk management within the product design.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or related areas.
  • Between 4 to 7 years of product management experience, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead digital products from concept to launch and ongoing enhancement.
  • Deep understanding of product management practices including agile methodologies and product discovery processes.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, design, data, operations, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Expertise in setting and monitoring product KPIs.
  • Familiarity with customer research, prioritization, experimentation, and product analytics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth setting with shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of the African fintech environment; familiarity with the Ghanaian market is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in digital payments, lending, BNPL, merchant financial products, digital banking, or fintech APIs.
  • Experience with credit products, KYC, fraud prevention, or fintech compliance.
  • Track record of product launches or scaling in Ghana or African markets.
