Overview
First Table, a hospitality tech platform based in Queenstown, New Zealand, is seeking a Product Manager to join their team in Auckland. The company connects diners with restaurants through innovative dining discovery technology, operating in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
Role Details
The Product Manager will take ownership of a specific product domain, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams to define, build, and measure impactful features. Reporting to the VP of Product & Engineering, this role entails close customer engagement, data analysis, and decision-making to advance product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product metrics and drive measurable improvements.
- Identify and frame customer and business challenges to guide product direction.
- Gain deep insights into diner and restaurant partner needs through research and data analysis.
- Use data to validate assumptions, prioritize initiatives, and evaluate outcomes.
- Manage backlog efficiently, write clear requirements, and resolve ambiguities with cross-functional teams.
- Develop hypotheses and conduct experiments including A/B tests to inform next steps.
- Communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks transparently with stakeholders.
- Leverage AI tools in research, prototyping, data interrogation, and content creation to enhance workflows.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven product management experience in digital environments, preferably marketplaces or high-volume B2C products.
- Track record of end-to-end ownership with demonstrable impact.
- Strong execution capability, adept at clarifying ambiguous problems and delivering results.
- Data-savvy with confidence using analytics to inform decisions.
- Experience with experimentation and A/B testing methodologies.
- Firm prioritization skills and ability to challenge or reduce scope for better outcomes.
- Technical literacy sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers and assess trade-offs.
- Customer-centric attitude and excellent communication skills, with practical experience incorporating AI into daily work.
- Experience with two-sided marketplaces and familiarity with growth, conversion optimization, bookings, hospitality, travel, or transactional consumer products is advantageous.
