Team and Mission
We seek a Principal Engineering Manager to lead the effort of securing access to global online resources. This role involves building and managing a PKI platform with world-class foundations to enhance security and productivity for Entra and Azure clients. Microsoft Identity & Network Access (IDNA) supports an active user base exceeding one billion monthly and is foundational to nearly all Microsoft products—from Windows and Office to Azure and Xbox. Identity is a rapidly growing domain for Microsoft, and this role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the protection of crucial assets and high-traffic services.

Responsibilities
- Manage and expand a high-performing engineering team of 8-10 members
- Guide, mentor, recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent
- Provide direct technical leadership in architecture design, coding, code reviews, quality assurance, and live site management
- Maintain and advance large-scale authorization systems focusing on security and resilience
- Collaborate with Product Management to align with immediate and strategic business goals
- Engage with partner teams across Microsoft to facilitate seamless cooperation
- Promote a supportive and inclusive team environment consistent with Microsoft's culture and values
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant technical field with at least 6 years of engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent industrial experience
- Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead with a passion for coaching and developing others
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must satisfy Microsoft, customer, and government security clearance standards, including passing Microsoft Cloud Background Checks at hire and every two years
Compensation and Benefits
The typical annual base salary range for this role in Ireland spans €99,800 to €172,400, with eligibility for additional benefits. The role will remain open for at least five days, with ongoing applications accepted until filled.
