Job Overview

The Pricing Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate pricing throughout the store. This role includes updating shelf tags, verifying prices, and delivering excellent customer service by assisting customers with locating items and confirming prices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use handheld scanners to receive and confirm price tags, ensuring correct pricing for store items.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly updates and corrections of pricing information within computer systems.
  • Investigate and add any unlisted items to the pricing database and generate scanning reports to minimize shrinkage.
  • Manage price tags by sorting, removing, hanging, and ensuring displays and shelves have correct pricing and signage.
  • Ensure WIC tags comply with company policies and government regulations.
  • Apply price adjustments derived from advertisements, corrections, and clearance items.
  • Maintain scanning and computer equipment and liaise with Help Desk when necessary.
  • Keep computerized pricing systems accurate and updated.
  • Provide courteous customer service by greeting shoppers, answering inquiries, and responding to price-related complaints.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work and shopping environment by following company safety protocols.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of Fresh Item Management (FIM).
  • Familiarity with SAP reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Proficient with basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Alertness to potential hazards and ability to address or report them promptly.

Education and Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Drivers for company business must be 21 or older in accordance with company policy.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Position involves primarily on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous use of close and distance vision, as well as depth perception.
  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and use of hands for reaching, touching, and handling items.
  • Regular fine motor tasks like sorting and typing.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Occasional prolonged sitting and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Consistent attendance is mandatory.

Work Environment

  • Primarily retail store setting with noise levels ranging from quiet to moderate.
