Job description

Role Purpose

The Pricing Analyst is entrusted with enhancing contribution growth within the Asia & Middle East markets by implementing data-driven pricing strategies, leveraging market insights, and steering commercial initiatives. The position aims to bolster market competitiveness, network profitability, and sustainable business outcomes while ensuring compliance with AFKLMP pricing governance and broader strategic goals.

Key Objectives

  • Boost contribution and network profitability via strategic pricing, demand control, and managing traffic mix.
  • Formulate and apply pricing strategies informed by market intelligence, competitor positioning, customer behaviour, and willingness to pay.
  • Enhance commercial results by identifying risks and opportunities through data analytics and forecasting.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Revenue Management, and HQ to guide commercial decisions supporting profitable growth.
  • Ensure adherence to pricing governance across tenders, contracts, pricing policies, and commercial projects.
  • Drive continuous improvements and digital transformation through advanced analytics, automation, and pricing technologies.

Main Interactions

  • Internal collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Revenue Management, Market Management, PRM Regional and HQ Teams.
  • External coordination with Interline Partners, Air Cargo entities, and market intelligence sources.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategically drive contribution growth by setting prices aligned with market demand, competitive positioning, and route-specific analysis.
  • Optimize pricing across markets, contracts, spot, and promotional rates to maximize profitability.
  • Derive actionable strategies and plans from pricing analysis for specific markets.
  • Monitor key performance variables such as origins/destinations, products, rate types, agents, customer segments, bookings, requests, quotations, and manifests.
  • Evaluate market share, competitive stance, rate trends, and product placement to pinpoint improvement potentials.
  • Integrate historical data with forward-looking insights to forecast trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Revenue Management, Market Directors, Intercontinental Directors, Key Account and HQ teams to align pricing with contribution goals.
  • Offer data-driven recommendations to support commercial guidance, capacity usage, and optimal traffic mix.
  • Challenge pricing deviations and proposals threatening contribution, rate quality, or strategic alignment.
  • Assist in developing and implementing pricing policies, charges updates, and guidelines to improve contribution consistency.
  • Maintain compliance of local pricing practices with regional and central directives.
  • Identify and propose corrections for deviations from Strategic Pricing Guidelines based on market insights and performance reviews.
  • Support tender and contract processes ensuring pricing aligns with contribution, governance, and strategy.
  • Review contract documents and pricing exceptions to protect profitability and commercial integrity.
  • Track awarded contract performance and recommend adjustments if contribution targets are unmet.
  • Contribute to network, freighter, and interline pricing opportunities enhancing contribution and capacity use.
  • Coordinate with HQ, interline teams, Sales, Customer Service, and Revenue Management to implement and monitor pricing initiatives.
  • Leverage and maintain pricing and revenue management tools including booking and decision-support systems to elevate pricing precision and efficiency.
  • Compile periodic performance reports, market benchmarks, and opportunity analyses guiding commercial actions.
  • Engage in automation, process upgrades, and analytics projects to improve contribution management effectiveness.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Solid understanding of Air Cargo, Pricing, and Revenue Management basics.
  • Familiarity with market dynamics, competitive assessments, and customer profitability analysis.
  • Experience in tender management, contract pricing, and commercial governance compliance.
  • Insight into contribution drivers including yield, load factor, and profitability.

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and complex data analysis.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Skill in translating complex datasets into practical commercial recommendations.
