ASR shares every risk it underwrites through balance sheets located in Bermuda, Mauritius, and Lloyd's Syndicate 2454. Responsibilities

  • Take charge of and oversee essential pricing tasks such as account-level pricing assistance, benchmarking, rate-change evaluations, portfolio tracking, and detecting emerging market trends.
  • Lead the recalibration and refinement of pricing models by thoroughly analyzing claims and exposure data, enhancing pricing elements and model parameters.
  • Assess and optimize pricing methodologies to ensure they align with industry best practices, underwriter requirements, and business goals.
  • Enhance pricing processes and models to improve automation, accuracy, and scalability, including transitioning from Excel-based tools to advanced, AI-driven platforms.
  • Present regular portfolio analyses and performance reports, collaborating with Underwriting and management teams to agree on action plans and monitor results.
  • Work closely with the data team to guarantee quality data collection that supports dependable pricing and reporting.
  • Offer technical expertise and assistance to Underwriters regarding pricing models.
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks as needed to support broader team aims and organizational priorities.

Experience and Skills

  • Possess a BSc or higher degree in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science.
  • Have at least five years of relevant actuarial experience.
  • Be progressing towards, or hold, an FIA or equivalent actuarial certification.
  • Demonstrate expert-level Excel skills focused on designing robust models with strong controls.
  • Show proficiency in SQL and Python or comparable programming languages.
  • Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a history of devising efficient, automated solutions.
  • Adapt quickly and thrive in dynamic and changing environments.
  • Have solid IT skills across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possess strong interpersonal abilities, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pricing within the general insurance sector.
  • Near or fully qualified as an actuary.
  • Excellent relationship-building capabilities with confidence in influencing non-actuarial personnel.
  • Additional programming knowledge such as VBA, R, or Power BI.
