Pricing Actuary

About the Role

A respected global reinsurer is seeking a Pricing Actuary to become part of their Life and Health sector based in Dublin. This pivotal position reports directly to the Head of Pricing (L&H) and plays a vital role in new business acquisition, offering valuable involvement with global pricing strategies, regulatory compliance, and senior management engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assess new business prospects arising from the international Life and Health network.
• Establish and reassess pricing assumptions while designing tailored reinsurance products.
• Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders through effective client acquisition and onboarding processes.
• Comprehend the regulatory, accounting, and financial consequences linked to potential transactions.
• Prepare and review treaty documentation and summary materials related to transactions.
• Communicate pricing updates and intricate reinsurance solutions to senior executives.
• Support Life and Health strategic planning, client growth across Europe, and contribute to corporate workshops and conferences.
• Keep abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes, including Solvency II and IFRS 17, and their effect on the business.

Candidate Requirements

• Fully qualified actuary with more than two years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in life reinsurance, especially within pricing or product structuring, is highly desirable.
• International exposure to diverse regulatory frameworks, regions, and product types is advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of European solvency standards and regulatory obligations.
• Strong analytical skills combined with strategic thinking and confidence in independent decision-making.
• Excellent communication abilities, effective collaboration within teams, and adaptability under stress.
