Role Overview

We are in search of a knowledgeable and commercially insightful SEC-Sponsored Portfolio Manager to lead and enhance a diversified portfolio focusing primarily on Alternative Investments and Real Estate. This role involves comprehensive portfolio management, including strategy formulation, asset allocation, risk management, and maximizing performance. Candidates licensed or sponsored by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will be given priority.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and oversee diversified portfolios encompassing real estate, private credit, and alternative investment strategies.
• Lead processes in investment evaluation, due diligence, structuring, and executing transactions.
• Manage credit underwriting related to private lending and structured finance deals.
• Handle real estate investment activities such as acquisitions, performance tracking, and exit planning.
• Formulate portfolio strategies that align with expected returns, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance.
• Perform advanced financial modeling, valuation, and scenario-based analysis.
• Keep abreast of macroeconomic and sector trends impacting alternative asset performance.
• Deliver investment recommendations and portfolio updates to senior leaders and investment committees.
• Institute strict portfolio risk management, diversification, and capital protection measures.
• Collaborate efficiently with capital raising and compliance teams to meet investor expectations in line with portfolio strategies.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in portfolio, investment, or asset management.
• Proven expertise managing Alternative Investment and Real Estate portfolios.
• Sound knowledge of structured investments and credit risk assessment.
• Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation, and analytical methods.

Preferred/Highly Desired:

• Active SEC sponsorship or licensing (preferred).
• Master’s degree or MBA qualification.
• Experience managing illiquid or semi-liquid asset portfolios.
• Demonstrated success in generating risk-adjusted returns, particularly in African or emerging markets.
• Management of assets exceeding 50 billion Nigerian Naira.
