Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated, dependable, and adaptable individuals to join our Facilities Team as Porters. This role involves a variety of duties supporting the hospital's functioning and is essential to delivering patient care. The position operates around the clock, every day of the year, requiring flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of portering tasks within a 24/7 service framework.
  • Provide frontline support in a patient-facing role, ensuring safe and efficient patient transfers.
  • Handle the movement and delivery of equipment, furniture, linen, medical records, drugs, and mail.
  • Work as part of a team with strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comply with shift patterns on a 13-week rotating roster covering early, late, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must hold a full UK manual driving licence capable of operating vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • Ability to show initiative, awareness, and excellent customer service aptitude.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Training will be provided to equip successful candidates with relevant skills.
