Job description

Role Overview

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations at a biodiesel production facility, ensuring smooth, safe, and uninterrupted manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the biodiesel plant to guarantee efficient and continuous production.
  • Develop and implement production schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to meet set production targets and customer demands.
  • Analyze and optimize key production processes such as esterification, transesterification, methanol recovery, distillation, washing, and settling to enhance yield and minimize production losses.
  • Supervise the quality and usage of raw materials including Used Cooking Oil (UCO), acid oil, tallow, methanol, catalysts, and other chemicals involved in the process.
  • Ensure that the finished biodiesel product complies with quality standards by working closely with the Quality Control team for testing and product release.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for critical plant equipment such as reactors, pumps, tanks, boilers, cooling towers, pipelines, and utilities, aiming to reduce downtime.
  • Adhere strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, Factory regulations, Pollution Control Board guidelines, Fire and Safety standards, PESO regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead and manage production personnel including engineers, operators, technicians, helpers, and shift teams, overseeing manpower allocation, discipline, training, and productivity enhancement.
  • Control production-related costs and utility consumption, including power, steam, fuel, water, methanol, and chemicals, by implementing effective cost management strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to production metrics, yields, raw material consumption, inventory, equipment breakdowns, safety incidents, and utility usage; provide timely reports to senior management.
