Job description
Role Overview
The Planner/Scheduler serves as a crucial communication hub connecting Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Stores, Procurement, and external contractors to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operations.
Key Duties
- Organize and schedule preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Evaluate incoming work requests, prioritize them appropriately, and create detailed job plans.
- Develop weekly and daily maintenance plans aligned with production and business priorities.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize impact on manufacturing schedules.
- Plan maintenance tasks several weeks ahead when feasible.
- Manage allocation of technical staff across disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
- Assess necessary manpower, estimated labor hours, tools, materials, and specialized resources.
- Ensure all required safety permits, isolations, and precautions are identified prior to commencement.
- Oversee coordination of annual shutdowns and significant maintenance projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination within manufacturing settings.
- 2 to 5+ years experience in regulated sectors such as pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical devices, food, or similar industries.
- Proficient in maintaining and using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like IBM Maximo, SAP, or equivalent.
