Job description
Role Overview
As an Enforcement Planner at the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, you will play a key role in upholding the organization's regulatory framework. This position involves active fieldwork to ensure adherence to URA's regulations through site inspections, public engagement, and enforcement management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site inspections and investigations to detect and record any breaches of regulations, including interviewing relevant individuals involved in the cases.
- Engage homeowners and business operators to clarify and educate them about the prevailing rules and regulations.
- Implement enforcement measures, such as issuing formal statutory notices to compel compliance.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on appeals by balancing compliance requirements with practical considerations.
- Handle difficult in-person interactions effectively, using de-escalation strategies while maintaining professionalism.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a degree in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering, architecture, building science, or a closely related discipline. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in enforcement or investigative roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills for diverse interactions.
- Proficient analytical abilities along with strong writing and presentation skills.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Contract Details
This role is initially offered as a one-year contract with potential for extension based on performance evaluations.
