Physical Network Inventory (PNI) Consultant / Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Physical Network Inventory (PNI) Consultant / Developer to join our team in Berlin, Germany. This role focuses on managing and modeling telecom physical networks, integrating geographic information systems (GIS), and connecting with operations support systems/business support systems (OSS/BSS).

Responsibilities and Required Competencies

• Handling telecom physical network inventory including fiber optics, copper cables, ducts, conduits, and pathways.
• Managing physical infrastructure components such as manholes, handholes, cabinets, poles, towers, and distribution points.
• Inventory upkeep for racks, shelves, cards, modules, patch panels, and ports.
• Working with network devices including routers, switches, optical line terminals (OLTs), optical network terminals (ONTs), and digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAMs).
• Modeling physical connectivity, network topology, and managing network resources.
• Covering technologies like FTTH, broadband, Ethernet, IP, and optical networking.
• Integrating GIS and spatial network data.
• Connecting with OSS/BSS systems for local network inventory, provisioning, activation, and order management.
• Utilizing REST and SOAP APIs, working with JSON, XML, and event-driven integration methods.
• Proficiency with SQL, relational database management, and data modeling.
• Performing data migration, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation tasks.
• Conducting network discovery and inventory synchronization activities.
• Automation and scripting for troubleshooting and operational support.
• Adopting Agile/Scrum practices and supporting production environments.

Experience and Expertise

Candidates should have 4 to 8 years of experience specifically related to telecom physical network inventory platforms, GIS and network mapping solutions, fiber and broadband environments, and integration with OSS/BSS systems.
