About the Role
Grampians Health is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their busy payroll team in Ballarat, Victoria. This full-time permanent role involves managing the fortnightly payroll cycle following approved rosters and entitlements governed by Enterprise Agreements. The successful candidate will ensure accurate salary processing, reimbursements, deductions, and the reconciliation of employee entitlements and liabilities. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and extensive knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete fortnightly payroll processing using SAP and rostering software, guaranteeing compliance, precision, and timely delivery.
- Utilize payroll checklists to finalize pre-pay run activities proactively, handle off-cycle and special payments, and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
- Assure correct payments relating to salaries, superannuation, taxation, and staffing expenses in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
- Address payroll inquiries from employees through phone and ticketing channels.
- Oversee imports and exports of rostering data, conduct detailed reviews of leave and superannuation, and prepare documentation for terminations and employment verifications.
- Maintain thorough records and continuously update knowledge relevant to payroll processing.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in comprehensive payroll processing functions.
- Strong knowledge of compliance related to taxation, superannuation legislation, and award interpretation.
- Excellent organisational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience with Payroll and Rostering systems such as SAP and Optima is highly valued.
- Capability to manage large data volumes, adapt to shifting priorities, and employ innovation throughout operational tasks.
- Experience developing procedural documentation and user guides.

Additional Information
