- Manage the full monthly payroll processing for diverse employee groups including professors, administrative and scientific staff, working students, mini-jobbers, and interns, covering all preparatory and follow-up tasks within a defined payroll scope.
- Maintain personnel data relevant to payroll such as master data, absences, and variable salary components, along with managing digital personnel files.
- Handle issuance of certificates and liaise with various external bodies such as health insurance funds, tax offices, social security agencies, and the Federal Employment Agency.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employees and management regarding social security, wage taxation, and payroll-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with legal and company regulations.
- Perform evaluation and processing of non-cash benefits.
- Contribute to the ongoing optimization and enhancement of payroll processes.
- Support financial closings and assist with internal and external audits.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training in business administration, taxation or a related field, ideally complemented by further qualifications in human resources or payroll management.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in payroll, including handling special cases such as BahnCards, corporate tickets, secondments, occupational pensions, and on-call duties.
- In-depth knowledge of wage tax and social security regulations and basic understanding of employment contracts.
- Basic skills in payroll accounting, especially account reconciliation with the accounting department.
- Preferably experience in valuing and processing non-cash benefits.
- Proficiency in DATEV (LODAS) software and MS Office applications.
- Strong service orientation, excellent communication skills, and team spirit.
- High level of discretion, reliability, and responsibility.
- Structured, independent and precise working style.
- Fluent German language skills (at least C1 level) and basic English abilities (minimum A2 level).
